Feed Your Pets

This Privacy Policy explains how Heirong Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Feed Your Pets mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

a) Information You Provide

• Pet names and pet type (e.g. dog, cat) you enter within the App.
• Feeding schedules (meal times and meal counts) you configure within the App.
• Optional pet profile photos — these are stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous User ID: We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign your device a unique, randomly generated ID. This ID is not linked to your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
• Device Token: To deliver push notifications (e.g. feeding reminders and meal-completed alerts from synced partners), we collect your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token. This token identifies your physical device for notification delivery only.
• Usage Data: Basic app usage information (such as app launch events) may be collected by Firebase Analytics to help us improve the App. This data is aggregated and anonymised.

c) Information Shared Between Users (Sync Feature) If you choose to share a pet profile with another user using the sync/join feature, the following data is shared with that user within the App:

• The pet's name, type, and feeding schedule.
• Feeding completion status (which meals have been marked as fed).

This sharing only occurs when you explicitly initiate it by sharing a pet ID.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

• Store and sync your pet feeding schedules across your devices or with shared users in real time via Firebase Firestore.
• Send local and remote push notifications reminding you of feeding times and alerting synced partners when a meal is completed.
• Improve and maintain App functionality.

We do NOT use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the App.

3. HOW WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION

Pet names, types, feeding schedules, and feeding history are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database operated by Google LLC. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Pet profile photos are stored locally on your device's file system only. They are never uploaded to Firebase or any external server. Your anonymous user ID is the only identifier associated with your cloud-stored data.

4. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Storage) is used to operate core App features. Google's privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Heirong Ltd or others, we may disclose information to appropriate authorities.

5. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

The App uses two types of notifications:

• Local Notifications: Scheduled on your device to remind you of feeding times. No data leaves your device for these.
• Remote Push Notifications: Sent via Firebase Cloud Messaging when a shared pet's meal is marked as completed by another user. Your FCM device token is stored in Firestore solely for this purpose and is not used for marketing or advertising.

You can disable notifications at any time through your device's Settings app. Note that disabling notifications will prevent feeding reminders and partner meal alerts from appearing.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Feed Your Pets is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for users of all ages, including young children. Because the App uses anonymous authentication only, we do not collect any personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or dates of birth from any user, regardless of age. No parental consent is required to use the App.

7. DATA RETENTION

Your data is retained for as long as you use the App. Because all data is stored under a randomly generated anonymous ID with no personal identifier attached, we have no way to identify or isolate a specific user's data in Firebase. As a result, we are unable to delete individual user data on request.

To remove your data, you can delete your pet profiles directly within the App before uninstalling. Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data from your device.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Because the App uses anonymous authentication, all data is stored under a randomly generated ID that is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal identifier. As a result, we have no way to identify which data belongs to you from a support request alone, and therefore cannot fulfil traditional data access or correction requests on your behalf.

You can manage your own data directly within the App at any time:

• Edit or delete individual pet profiles from within the App.
• Deleting the App removes all locally stored data (including pet photos) from your device.

9. SECURITY

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
